How do you use your longline?

I use my long line when it’s time to let my dog have a sniff around, simulate off leash freedom and guided shadowing. These are great time of freedom for my dog. I keep him safe by being connected by leash and meet leagal requirements.

If I see a person coming into the area we are in, I recall him to me. Not everyone is comfortable with a dog having the potential to come into their space. If I see another dog coming into our space, I recall him back. I don’t now the other dog or owners, I always err on the side of caution, prevention rather than cure.

This s not the only way you can use your long line

The long lline is a great tool to connect with your dog, if they are ignoring you on a walk, choosing their own adventure or pulling you down the street.

Use it to build connection; remind them that you are on the other end of the lead and that you are choosing where to go. You’d be suprised at the difference it makes when you remind your dog of this.
